Xembedded, Inc. a XycomVME, Inc. company has announced the XPMC-6710 Single width PrPMC (Processor PCI Mezzanine Card) compliant PPC7448 processor available from 600MHz to 1.7GHz. This new design uses the Tundra Semiconductor Tsi109 Bridge chip for a higher performance level with PCI-X @133MHz. The available memory configurations are 512MB or 1GB of DDR2 ECC Memory. The board features PCI-X Host or Agent modes, Dual Serial ports, battery backed Real Time Clock, Dual 10/100/1000 Ethernet Ports, one switchable from front to rear I/O, optional JTAG connection and software support for VxWorks and MontaVista ® Linux.

The Xembedded XPMC-6710 is a PrPMC with a high performance PowerPC ® 7448 processor which is the fastest PPC in its class. The PrPMC offers advantages over other solutions due to its flexibility to update the CPU at ease while maintaining the rest of the subsystem I/O. The XPMC-6710 is well suited for applications due to its modular form factor. Applications such as communication, Defense/Aerospace, Industrial controls, DSP, etc. This module is a complementary product to our XCPC-9100 CompactPCI carrier board or our XVME-6520 PowerPC VMEbus processor board.

The XPMC-6710 elite grade Compute engine gives OEMs blazing Compute density to do leading edge pervasive computing. The PPC7448 includes 128-bit AltiVec vector execution unit as found in previous PPC74xx devices, but with the enhanced support for out-of-order instructions.

The XPMC-67100 is well suited for use on our XCPC-9100 dual PrPMC carrier with 8 port Ethernet switch for CompactPCI bus applications.
