Overview
The XVME-979 CD-ROM & CD-R/W, DVD-R/W, hard drive and external floppy drive module provides an easy way to integrate these storage devices on the VMEbus while occupying only one double-high (6U) VMEbus. The XVME-979 is available in eight versions:
CD:
- XVME-979/1 | CD-ROM drive-external floppy connector version
- XVME-979/2 | CD-ROM drive-external floppy connector version, and hard drive
- XVME-979/3 | CD-R/W drive-external floppy connector version
- XVME-979/4 | CD-R/W drive-external floppy connector version, and hard drive
DVD:
- XVME-979/5 | DVD-R/W drive-external floppy connector version
- XVME-979/6 | DVD-R/W drive-external floppy connector version, and hard drive
- XVME-979/7 | DVD-R/W and Solid State Hard Drive
- XVME-979/8 | DVD-R/W and Rugged Hard Drive
The XVME-979 module is ideally suited for use with XycomVME's Intel-based VMEbus processor modules. The compact design and easy installation make it an ideal mass storage solution for a variety of VMEbus systems.
Features
- 24X CD-ROM drive or CR-R/W drive, EIDE/Atapi interface, 16.6 MB/sec (PI0 Mode 4/DMA Mode 2) transfer rate is standard, 33.3 MB capable
- Multi-session photo CD, CDI, Video CD, Enhanced CD, and CD Plus compatible
- Occupies only one VMEbus slot
- Automatic retries on errors
- Transparent defect mapping reassigns defective sectors discovered in the field without reformatting (/2 & /4 versions only)
- Easily removable cabling in the backplane
- 2.5" hard drive
