The TVME8240 VMEbus CPU board is based on the highly integrated MPC8240 Power PC microprocessor with an MPC603e CPU kernel, a powerful DRAM controller and a PCI interface.

Powerful Processor and I/O Combination
The combination of an MPC8240 processor and IndustryPack slots provide a powerful CPU and a modular I/O solution for applications in process control, telecommunication, medical systems and traffic control.

Software Support
Software support for the CPU board TVME8240 is available for VxWorks, OS-9, pSOS+, and LINUX.

For first-time buyers, the engineering kit TVME8240-EK is recommended. The engineering kit includes TVME8240-DOC, schematics and datasheets of the TVME8240.

Below is a summary of the TVME8240 features:

  • MPC8240 CPU: 200/250 MHz PowerPC 603e, Memory Controller and PCI Bridge
  • 16 KB / 16 KB L1-Cache (PowerPC 603e)
  • 32 MB or 64 MB SDRAM
  • Two 32-pin PLCC/CLCC sockets for FLASH memory up to 1 MB for firmware
  • Four IndustryPack slots with either front panel or back panel I/O
  • PC Expansion Connector for TSPANxxx (4 slot IP Carrier or 2 slot PMC Carrier)
  • Optional 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet interface with 32 bit PCI DMA
  • Optional 8 MB FLASH memory
  • Optional Ultra Wide SCSI interface with 40 MB/s and PCI DMA
  • 8 KB NVRAM and TOY clock with exchangeable battery
  • Four 32-bit timers, one 16-bit timer, one Watchdog timer
  • One asynchronous RS232 port, one asynchronous RS232/RS422 port
  • On-board debug monitor
  • A32/D32/BLT64 VMEbus Master/Slave Interface with System Controller function, high performance DMA supports VMEbus D64 and 32-bit PCI local bus memory burst, 4-Level requester, 7-Level interrupter and 7-level VMEbus interrupt handler
